387. Newsletter launch

Just adding to my last post on updates, I have launched an email newsletter, “The Gita” that focuses on building our knowledge of the Bhagavad Gita.

Every week, I will send out a short and easy-to-understand essay from each of the chapters of the book. We will cover the 18 chapters systematically and I plan the first issue to go out this weekend of 27th & 28th of June 2020. So, please subscribe early so as not to miss out.

It would be awesome if my blog fans & visitors here could subscribe to this initiative & invite your friends too. A lot of subscribers will keep me excited & keep me motivated to keep writing.

Please subscribe via this link: https://thegita.substack.com/welcome

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! See you there 🙂

386. Website updates

Hare Krishna all!

I haven’t been blogging here as often I have been in the past – 3 years to be exact! That’s what social media does to you. Been Facebooking, Tweeting & Instagraming!

Anyways, early this year, I launched a website called “bhajate.com

I am planning to use the above new site as my blog. So, please do visit me there.

I will still keep this one active as it’s a part of my life and has my early Krishna Consciousess journey recorded. But yeah, please check out the contents on the new site.

197. Mayapur 2010 : Mahaprasad

On another day, I bumped into Narasimha Kavaca Das (ISKCON Deity Worship Minister) form Melbourne who is also managing Mayapur Academy. Later in the evening that day, his wife and him invited me to their house for an evening dinner prasada. In addition to the lovely meal, I also gt the below mahaprasada !!

The Shawl !

The Shawl !

I was thrilled to get my very first shawl !! I have been thinking of having one ever since I saw how lovely they looked on Srila Prabhupad. And now I have one of my own. This lovely white wool shawl was offered at the altar of Sri Sri Radha-Madhava. I tried it out a few weeks ago when it was awfully cold during one of the mornings here in Melbourne. It felt good. But there must be a secret to keeping it on your body. It’s not like a sweater where you don’t have to worry about it falling off each time you take few steps. And it’s hard to do the dishes too, with the shawl on. But there is one thing I like about it besides keeping me really warm – it makes me feel all holy when I have it draped around me and over my head 🙂

Anyways, I have tried it only once and kept it away because of its special significance. A huge thanks to the deity worship minister for the wonderful and a very cherish able gift !

1. Thank You Session

Before I dive into the wonderful world of blogging, let me start thanking some people whose blogging experience kept me encouraged on the path of devotional service and connected with the Hare Krishnas, especially over the last 1 year.

1. Bloggers – All the wonderful posts of other Hare Krishna bloggers around the world who kept me on the path of devotion through their own tales and perspectives
2. Krishna.com – the busy warehouse people with all things Krishna. All beautifully displayed and answering questions so promptly. Yet to buy something from there
3. The Melbourne Hare Krishna Temple by Annirudha Prabhu & Devotees – makes me want to come to the temple again and again

Thank you all for your time and efforts !!
